Rozelle House

Rozelle Park, Ayr

Fantastic artwork in a fantastic building. The Rozelle House is a Grade A listed mansion built by innovative architect Robert Adam. The house displays a series of 54 paintings by artist Alexander Goudie, a renowned figure in the artistic sphere for his sketches, paintings and his later influence on pottery and poetry. Along with the exhibition, Rozelle House extends its purpose with a number of art workshops and classes, along with a museum, craft house and coffee shop, prefect for an influential and creative day out.

Pirate Pete's

Pavilion Rd, Ayr

Ahoy me Hearties! Pirate Pete invites all to join him and become an old seadog for the day. Participants can help him get his team in shipshape by putting their pirate skills to the test., sliding down into the watery depths of Pete’s ballpools and practising scaling his tricky nets. Parents can even join in with a specially designed play area to accompany toddlers. But be careful - there are lots of planks to walk if Pete says to blow the man down. Suitable for ages 1 – 11.

Maclaurin Art Galleries

Set in a beautiful mansion and accentuating art collections with its historical backdrop, the Maclaurin Art Galleries can be found in the Rozelle House’s former servant’s quarters and stable block. The gallery contains commissioned artwork both traditional and modern, named as one of the greatest 20th Century art collections in the country. There is also a space dedicated for a children’s exhibition exhibiting work by the winners of the Maclaurin Art Competition.
