Werewolves, witches and wonderfully scary ghosts, your time of the year is finally upon us. Halloween is the time for you to become the spooky character you have always wanted to be. Falling on a Tuesday this year, you can make Halloween 2023 last all weekend and even into the beginning of the week!
There are countless Halloween events happening across the UK this October both for families and adults only. Here are just a few of our favourites that are only a stones-throw away from our haunting hotels.
Pumpkin Carving
Pumpkin carving is a great part of Halloween and this year, you can join in with just this at Chelsea Physic Garden.
Your ticket will get you a guided tour around the Garden, where you will learn all about pumpkins. You then enter the spooky garden shed where you can turn a pumpkin into a freaky friend to take home.
This is an activity for the whole family; however, children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult who will aid the child with the pumpkin carving.

Surfin Llamas Halloween Party 18+
This event has been hailed as a “Halloween Extravaganza”, so you can expect great things. Surfin Llamas are a Derbyshire-based band that play authentic rock n’ roll, reggae and ska amongst other genres. They put their own twist on absolute classic tunes, so you can enjoy a taste of nostalgia whilst also getting excited by the new mix.
For adults only, this event will be a jam-packed, energetic night that you will always remember (depending on how much you drink).
Surfin Llamas Halloween Party is only a short 34-minute drive from our very own Britannia Nottingham Hotel, so you can just jump in a taxi after the event and be in a warm and comfortable bed in no time at all.

If you are looking for somewhere spooky to take the whole family, why not visit the House Of Secrets for their Family Halloween Spooktacular? There will be a whole range of exciting games, a fancy dress competition and even a “not-so-scary Halloween magic show”.
Tickets here are affordable and you even receive a magic potion cocktail when you arrive!
After your amazing evening, you could even walk across the Blackpool seafront in your scary costumes. No doubt you will find a number of other people in amazing outfits too.

The Rocky Horror Live Halloween Special
This 1975 film is a cult classic and Halloween must-see. Each year, millions of people take inspiration from the Rocky Horror Picture Show and dress up as Dr Frank-N-Furter, Magenta and even put on a hunch to become Riff Raff.
There is a special Halloween viewing party in Glasgow this year with a bustling after party on the cards too. The performance includes the typical audience participation as well as themed cocktails and a cast meet and greet.
