Buxton Destination Guide

At 300m above sea level, the picturesque spa town of Buxton is the highest town of its size in England.  Renowned for its mineral water and historical Baths, the Derbyshire town is popular among tourists. Benefitting from its close proximity to the Peak District national park boundaries, Buxton is a destination of choice for many walkers and adventure seekers.  

The town encompasses a full range of shops, centred around a shopping arcade built over the River Wye, and hosts a market every Tuesday and Saturday.

Located close to the M6 and A6 and with good rail links, the spa town is easily accessible from neighbouring Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham and Stoke-on-Trent.
