Event: Meet The Gruffalo

Do you know the Gruffalo? His eyes are orange, his tongue is black, he has purple prickles all over his back! Well exclusive to this summer, the Gruffalo has decided to come to Lyme Park, for a special adventure with all his favourite children!

For those who don’t know, the Gruffalo is an international best-selling children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Alex Schaffler. The story recoils as a mouse sets off on a trail through the Deep Dark Wood, where he meets all kinds of creatures - including the famous beastly Gruffalo.

Gruffalo In Business

What can you do with the Gruffalo this summer?

From the 27th June – 31st August, families can follow in the footsteps of the brave mouse, creeping through the park’s woodland making sure not to disturb the other creatures. They can see all the original characters in art form, bring their own gruffalo picnic to enjoy with their fellow adventurers and huddle together for storytelling in the garden around noon.

Did we mention! You must also wear your best Gruffalo costume so you can scare away any wild creatures who might want to eat you in the forest! Meeting times will be every day from 11am- 4.30pm and all age ranges are welcome. It is also wheelchair and buggy-friendly, meaning no one has to miss out.
