UK Ski Slopes Near Budget Hotels

For many, skiing holidays spring bankruptcy to mind, with the added extortion of lift passes and equipment turning into a red zone for many holiday makers - particularly those looking to take the whole family away.

With that said, Britannia are here with some alternatives! Our budget hotels mixed with days spent gliding down England’s skiing slopes, means you can have a great family adventure in the snow without having to live off thin air for the year.

The Snow Centre, Hemel Hampstead:

This ski slope is the largest indoor skiing slope in the UK and provides a mixture of one-on-one and group lessons. They also offer party, family, child and adult packages, catering for all abilities from beginners to seasoned pros and give freestyle sessions, where those wanting to skim across rails, boxes and many more obstacles can test their skills. The slope is only 40 minutes away from our budget hotel in London, Hampstead.

Snozone, Castleford:

Not only can you grace the snow with skis and snowboards, at Snozone you can travel down at high speeds on sledges and tubes, or even opt for a family snow play session. The park also designs freestyle arenas for those trickster daredevils, no matter whether you are a mere beginner or rail master. Being only a 27 minute drive away from our Leeds Hotel, the snow has never been closer!

Chill Factore, Manchester:

Bringing innovation to snow, this 180m slope has a range of activities to enjoy from skiing and snowboarding lessons, to the new phenomenon Snowscoot (a combination of BMX biking and snowboarding) and Airboarding (the new body-boarding experience). Visitors can also go bob sledging or opt for the extreme snow carver, a specially designed sledge which pumps up the speed and allows you to dodge and weave down the slope. With Britannia being a budget hotel group, we have four hotels near Chill Factore, with the closest being our Britannia Manchester Hotel just a 20 minute drive away.

Snowdome, Staffordshire:

With rinks and slopes, visitors can have fun gliding on the ice as well as flying through the snow. Depending upon your preferences, you can have lessons, courses or late night freestyle sessions, where the music is loud and the spins, grinds and landings are fluid. Other activities include tobogganing and adrenaline tubing for those who want a straight run with fast momentum! Snowdown is only a 30 minute drive from our budget accommodation in our Coventry Hill Hotel.

Ski Rossendale, Lancashire:

Rossendale is a dry ski slope, however it still allows you to practise your moves as effectively as on the real snow. Alongside ski and snowboarding lessons, party packages and corporate packages, they also have a unique Air-Drenaline club. This means you can go extreme with the pros as they supply of air bags for your landings whilst you flip, twist and turn through the air. This UK ski slope is only 34 minutes away from our Wigan Hotel.

Llandudno Ski Slope, Llandudno:

With the longest toboggan run in the UK reaching 250m, alongside panoramic views across Llandudno bay whilst jetting down the slope, Llandudno ski slope is a favourite for many families. With a range of skiing and snowboarding lessons for juniors and adults, as well as open practise where you can ski or snowboard unsupervised, there is something for all requirements. It is also just a 12 minute walk away from the Britannia Hotel Llandudno!
