      For jazz music lovers, the Manchester Jazz Festival takes over the city for 9 days in July. Celebrating British and international jazz artists, thousands of fans gather to Manchester to enjoy music, food and arts.

      August bank holiday weekend is host to the popular Manchester Pride, an annual gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender festival that celebrates equality and culture. Crowds gather to enjoy the live music, street partys, markets and late night bars.

      Why not also visit the dazzling Manchester Christmas Market throughout November and December, introducing food stalls and gifts from around the world. This German-themed market is renowned for its good beer, hot mulled wine and delicious food, perfect for that cold winter's night.

      Tattoo Tea Party

      1st March 2015
      Tattoo enthusiasts perceive inked skin as the highest form of art, built upon the foundations of compelling beauty and incredible skill. The Tattoo Tea Party was designed to celebrate this belief, and has become one of the best tattoo shows in Europe. It consists of artists and traders displaying their best artwork, with entertainment like fire shows, wrestling, face painting and powerlifting competitions. You will also be able to top up your own ink, of course!

      Manchester Pride

      Recognised nationally as one of the biggest and most fabulous parades of the year, Manchester Pride celebrates the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. Here, eccentric is routine and you will embrace everything from music and alternative arts and performances, to community activities and markets. Full of culture, quirks and colour, everyone is welcome to join the festivities so parade with Pride!

      Manchester 100 Bike Ride

      6th September 2015
      Thousands of riders unite for a 100 mile route around Manchester to raise money for the charity Christies, one of the largest cancer treatment centres in Europe and an international leader in research. There is plenty of food and drink along the way, so you can always stop off for breaks and enjoy the ride. After all, it’s not about whether you finish first or last, it’s just about taking part in a good cause!

      MCM Comic Con

      25- 26th July 2015
      For comic creatives and die-hard fantasy fans, the MCM Comic Con has much in store. Find top merchandise littering the tables of every stall and go comic crazy with the exhibitions of your favourite artists promoting their work. Enter the gaming zone to play on the latest games and try your luck in one of many tournaments throughout the day. You should also go and check out some of the latest robots and see them battle in the arena. Join in the fun and don’t forget the fancy dress, as the show will see some of the best cosplay, manga and anime costumes around!

      Irish Festival

      6 – 19th March 2015
      Celebrating Irish culture, Manchester’s Irish Festival holds markets full of unique produce, music to make you jig and dance lessons where you can learn how to like the experts, lots of comedy from famous comedians and organised sport games like Rugby matches. There will also be a number of exhibitions delving into the history of Ireland and most importantly the St Patricks Day Parade, which is always full of good vibes, Irish dress, great food and alcohol for the adults!

      For those whose life revolves around the wheel, Manchester’s Bike Expo will have your gaskets blown! Featuring the best brands and biggest names, you can get up-close and personal with your idols. There is also the opportunity to watch an action-packed bike and triathalon show and also get your hands on some new quality sportswear. Come and get in gear with these fantastic bikes!

      Jazz Festival

      31st July - 9 August
      Honouring the likes of Ray Charles and Billie Holiday, the Jazz Festival is a cocktail of cultured, infamous music. From trumpets to trombones, an alphabet of sounds will have you tapping your toes to soulful rhythms. Featuring new, emerging talent as well as the already famous, The Jazz Festival stages concerts around the clock and focus on musical innovation. It also seeks to break down musical boundaries like with blues and rock 'n' roll.

      Altrincham Festival

      5th July 2015
      Run as a community project, Altrincham Festival is a free fun-filled day out. A procession of floats and music starts off the day and travels from Altrincham town centre to the Altrincham Festival. Here, there is something for everyone, from clowns, puppet shows and quad bikes for the children to enjoy, to the farmer’s market stocked with beautiful plants and tasty foods to purchase. There will also be a crafts marquee for everyone to get their hands dirty and take home something that extra bit special.
