Access Statement
Please find outlined below information we hope will ensure you
enjoy your visit to the Britannia Hotel, regardless of whether your
life is affected in some way by a medical condition, disability,
impairment or specific learning difficulty.
Prior to your arrival
• Enquiries and reservations may be made by phone or
email.
• Should you require a taxi to the hotel from Lime
Street Station (2 minute walk ) or Liverpool Airport (20
minute drive) or Manchester Airport(45 minute drive) black
cabs are readily available which are suitable for wheelchair users,
if required.
• Directions to the hotel can be found on our website.
On arrival at the hotel
• There is loading bays outside the main
entrance to the hotel on Ranelagh Place
• At the side entrance a dedicated alarm bell for guests
with disabilities, which alerts the concierge to your presence.
Reception Area
• The floor is carpeted and marbled throughout and is
suitable for wheelchairs.
• Reception is all on one level. The registration card will be
placed on a clipboard for ease of use.
• The reception desk is fitted with a hearing loop.
Public areas
• Our corridors are well lit and carpeted and marbled
throughout.
• Our residents bar (American Bar)is located off
reception and on the same level. This area is carpeted
Toilets
• A disabled toilet is situated on the ground floor , jenny's
restaurant , conference and banqueting rooms.
• The fire alarm system has sirens in the public areas and
flashing lights in the licensed areas. Assistance is given if
evacuation is necessary.
Restaurants and Bars
• Jenny's Restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch
and dinner is accessed by travelling in the disable lift, where
restaurant tables are also located. The Restaurant Supervisor
would explain the choices available and serve you at your
table
• Background music plays in the restaurant and bar
areas.
• All areas are well lit.
• There is no access to our Pizzeria Restaurant for wheel
chair user guests which is located on the lower ground
floor.
• There is no access to Cromptons Restaurant for wheel
user guests which is located on the lower ground floor.
• There is limited access to our Pub for wheel chairs
user guests.
Accommodation
• A limited number of rooms are available which
are accessed through lifts.
• Bathrooms are fitted with grab rails and pull cords
only. These bathrooms doors open outward for easy access.
• Bedrooms generally have limited space for wheelchair
users.
Conference & Banqueting Facilities
• All banqueting facility has direct access to the
disabled toilet facility.
• Our remaining meeting rooms are accessed via the guest lift
on floors 1,2 and 3.
Nightclub/ Fun bar
• There is no wheelchair access to Wave Bar.( only open
for private function.
Additional information
• Guide dogs are welcome
• A small fridge can be made available upon request for
medication.
