Access Statement
Please find outlined below information we hope will ensure you enjoy your visit to the Britannia Hotel, regardless of whether your life is affected in some way by a medical condition, disability, impairment or specific learning difficulty.
Prior to your arrival
• Enquiries and reservations may be made by phone or email.
• Should you require a taxi to the hotel from Leeds and Bradford
Airport (10 minute drive) or Leeds City (30 minute drive),
reception will be happy to book transport with our taxi firm that
has wheelchair suitable cars available.
• Directions to the hotel can be found on our website.
Reception Area
• The floor is carpeted throughout and is suitable for
wheelchairs.
• Reception is all on one level.
• The reception desk is fitted with a hearing loop.
Public areas
• Our corridors are well lit and carpeted throughout.
• Our hotel bar and restaurant are both located on the ground
floor on the same level as reception. This area is carpeted.
Toilets
• Two sets of disabled toilets are situated on the ground
floor, one in the main lounge area and another in our conference
and banqueting area.
• The fire alarm system has sirens in the public areas. Assistance
is given if evacuation is necessary.
Restaurants and Bars
• Jennys Restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner is
located on the ground floor. All public areas can be accessed from
bedrooms by lifts. Jennys Restaurant operates a Carvery; wheelchair
users can use this. Should you require assistance please do not
hesitate to ask a member of the restaurant staff.
• Background music plays in the restaurant and bar areas.
• All areas are well lit.
• There is ample moveable seating in this restaurant.
• There is no access to our Pizzeria Restaurant which is located
on the lower ground floor.
Accommodation
• Rooms are located over 5 floors; with accessible rooms being
located on the ground floor and second floor (second floor rooms
can be accessed via lifts)
• Accessible bedrooms are larger, allowing space for wheelchair
users. Bathrooms are fitted with grab rails and pull cords
only.
Conference & Banqueting Facilities
• All Conference and Banqueting facilities are located on the
ground floor with easy access to all.
• Guide dogs are welcome
• A small fridge can be made available upon request for
medication.
