WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre
WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre is where wilderness
and family-friendliness combine. In spring, visit the award winning
Downy Duckling experience as flamingo chicks grow and ducklings and
gosling appear as we open the duckling nursery. In winter,
many thousands of wild ducks, geese and swans are drawn to the
internationally-rated wetlands, offering spectacular displays of
feather and flight. But there is plenty to see and do at Martin
Mere all year round, with more than 100 types of rare and
endangered water-birds, a family of beavers and enchanting otters
in residence, two imaginative playgrounds for young adventurers as
well as den building and an inspirational eco-garden.
New for 2011: Get a close encounter on the brand new canoe safari adventure as you meander around a wetland to see wildlife from a bird's eye view, or simply relax and enjoy the scenery at the new Mere Side Cafe.
