Shopping Centres
The Avenue Shopping Centre has many shops to choose from Westbourne is probably one of the most elegant parts of Bournemouth with a fascinating selection of boutiques, quirky gift shops, interior design shops and patisseries and restaurants. Stroll through the Victorian arcade and look up to see the 22 gargoyles grinning down at you. These were placed here by the designer of the arcade in 1884.
Markets
There are quite a few markets in Bournemouth and the surrounding area:
Boscombe Market is Bournemouth's regular street market offering local produce, clothing and arts and crafts. Every Thursday and Saturday.
A farmers Market is also very popular and is easy accessible for a day out.
Don't forget the famous German Christmas Markets that are set up in the centre of Bournemouth, The Square from 28 November - 21 December with gifts to buy loved ones from Ginger hearts to hand crafted toys. Also indulge in a German sausage and a glass of "Glühwein" German mulled wine to get you into the Christmas spirit.
